Docta Bush - reggae was my life

Docta Bush - reggae was my life

I’ve lived in the Byron Shire for 35 years. I am a reggae musician and reggae music has pretty much been my life since the early eighties. I’m also known by my alias ‑ Dr Bush, which is reference to the healing powers of ‘the herb’. I toured with my reggae band, put on reggae clubs all around the Byron Shire, made and sold ital food and worked at Bluesfest for 10 years in staging and production. Who Am I?

I spent 20 years living in the hills of Mullum in my beloved tipi. It was in Mullum and in my tipi that I raised 2 of my 4 daughters. I was heavily involved in a fundamentalist Christian cult that stole my life. I I founded and ran a charity to support those living on the fringes of our society. Who am I?
